Health Care

In Kosovo, JRS supports refugees, asylum seekers, and repatriated persons in accessing essential health care services by facilitating referrals, accompaniment, and follow-up with public health institutions and relevant partners.
While the national health system provides access in principle, administrative, financial, and language barriers often prevent vulnerable individuals from receiving timely and adequate care. To address these gaps, JRS Kosovo:
- Provides referrals to primary and specialist care, including mental health services
- Offers accompaniment during medical visits
- Supports transport to health facilities
- Assists with facilitates access to emergency services
- Covers basic medical costs or medication when these are not accessible through public institutions
JRS also carries out awareness-raising sessions on health, hygiene, and preventive care, focusing especially on women, children, and persons with chronic or mental health conditions. Through this work, we aim to ensure equal access to healthcare, reduce risks, and strengthen the health resilience of displaced and vulnerable communities.
