Rhythms, Colors, and Solidarity: Our Activities for World Refugee Day

23 October 2025

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, we organized a series of activities aimed at promoting inclusion, understanding, and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome and respected. Through dancing, workshops, quizzes, and daily meetings, we sought to reflect together on the importance of this day and the experiences that connect us.

One of the most special activities was the traditional dance event, held in collaboration with the “Brez pas Brezi” Youth Cultural Center. Refugees had the opportunity to get to know some traditional Albanian dances, learn movements and rhythms from professionals in the field, and experience an atmosphere filled with energy and joy. For many participants, this was a new and eye-opening experience that not only brought them closer to the local culture but also created a sense of belonging through rhythm, music, and direct interaction.

Another important activity focused on creativity and play. During the workshop, participants made bracelets and bookmarks, engaging in a process that combined creativity, collaboration, and sharing of ideas. The event continued with an interactive quiz that brought laughter, dynamism, and natural exchange among participants. The atmosphere was warm and open, creating a space where everyone could freely express themselves and feel part of the community. This activity was carried out in cooperation with the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who contributed with great dedication and positivity.

In addition to the on-site activities, during this time we also held regular meetings in the office with our friends. These daily moments – simple in form but deep in content – are an essential part of our work. Through conversations, active listening, and sharing experiences, we continue to build relationships based on trust and mutual respect. It is these meetings that often create the most space to understand one another and encourage inclusion in everyday social and cultural life.

World Refugee Day is not just a date on the calendar; it is an opportunity to reflect on the journey of those far from their homeland and to reaffirm our commitment to stand by them every day. Through the activities organized during this period, we wanted to convey this very message: that solidarity does not only happen in big events but is built continuously, in shared moments, through small and sincere gestures.
