A week full of laughter, games, and friendships for the children

23 October 2025

During July, we had the pleasure of supporting six children aged 6 to 15 to participate in an inclusive summer camp that took place for one week in a safe and welcoming outdoor environment. These children, who currently live far from their hometowns, experienced a special opportunity that helped them connect with peers, play freely, and create memories that will accompany them throughout their lives.

The camp’s agenda included a wide range of fun and educational activities, from outdoor games, sports, and creative workshops, to cooperative activities such as team building, kayaking, pottery, water games, and special entertainment moments. For many of them, this was a new experience, a space where they felt free to explore, learn, and build confidence through play.

Lana, one of the participants, shared her experience with these words:
“It was an absolutely amazing experience! I had so much fun, made many new friends, and truly enjoyed all the challenges and games. The teachers were wonderful, it felt like we were one big family, playing, laughing, and learning together. I genuinely loved every moment; it was one of the best weeks of my life.”

For Nazar, this week was also special:
“This summer I went to the Summer School for a week and had a lot of fun. I made friends, played football, did activities, and many other things like team building, slip ‘n slide, kayaking, things you wouldn’t imagine having in a summer school. It was an excellent experience for me!”

Reflecting on her son’s special experience during the camp, his mother added:
“Thanks to the support from JRS, the boys who are now far from their hometowns had the chance to spend wonderful time with other children in the embrace of nature. Nazari made many new friends. He made a pot with his own hands in a pottery class. He also actively participated in various entertainments. He was especially enthusiastic about the day at the lake where the children were kayaking. It was a wonderful time.”

For us, every smile they shared during this week holds a special value. Children, regardless of their background or situation, deserve to feel safe, accepted, and supported, not only in their basic needs but also in their right to experience childhood with joy and dignity.

We will continue to create spaces like this, where children can play, learn, and build memories that bring color to their future.
